Name: Rogue / Marie D'Ancanto

About: Rogue's application.

This southern belle is sassy, stubborn, and strong-willed, refusing to be pushed around or bullied by others. She’s fiercely protective of people she cares about, as well as those who just need protecting -- she will come to the aid of anyone in need, even if it looks to be a losing battle, because it's the right thing to do. She's a passionate person, willing to risk everything for her 'family' and those that need her help, and is most certainly the adventurous sort, willing to do things she’s never done before and go places on her own.

Rogue feels very guilty when people she cares about are hurt by her powers, and grieves greatly for those she was forced to kill during her years of captivity as part of the government's experimentation. She frequently has nightmares that have been 'inherited' from others, including Magneto from during his time in Auschwitz and Logan from his experiences at Alkali Lake. If she doesn't make an effort to stabilize herself mentally, these stressors can take a toll on her ability to keep the psyches in her mind at bay, leading to rare periods where the stronger psyches supersede her own.

She can be a little reckless, not fully considering all the repercussions of her actions, though this recklessness only extends to herself; she wouldn’t do anything to overtly put someone else in danger. Running is her first instinct when she feels unwelcome and unwanted. Given her history, it’s quite easy for her to fall into this state, and she’s no longer ever fully assured she’s been accepted anywhere without proof through touch.

POWERS & SKILLS

✦ ROGUE TOUCH

» ENERGY ABSORPTION - Upon skin-to-skin contact, she may absorb the life force of other sentient beings. This absorption provides a boost to her own energy levels, and results in the other person feeling weakened up to the point of falling unconscious. There is no upper limit for the number of beings she can simultaneously absorb.

» ABILITY BORROWING - Generally for every 1 second she absorbs someone, she is able to use their abilities for 60 seconds. This can be mutations and powers, or enhanced physical or mental abilities.

» MEMORY COPYING SHARING - When absorbing someone, she will receive 1-3 memories from that person that will remain in her own mind after the absorption ends. At the same time, the other person will receive 1-3 of Rogue's own memories in return.

✦ PILOTING/FIGHTING - Because her power is not an 'active' one, during her time with the X-Men she put great effort into being a 'useful' member of the team. This included learning to pilot the Blackbird jet and a handful of other aircraft, and also became proficient enough in a number of fighting styles to lead her own self-defense course at the school.

PERMISSIONS

Physical Affection: Touch is something that's very important to Rogue, and she will both welcome and be wary of it. But please do offer hugs, hand-holding, friendly nudges... She'll cherish each and every one of them.
Physical Violence: Rogue isn't afraid to get into a fight, and after a bit of training to get back into shape, she'll more than be able to hold her own.
Telepathy/Mind Reading: Thanks to years of training with a telepath, Rogue has advanced mental shielding that will make it difficult (but not impossible) for her mind to be read.
Romance/Relationships: Please someone love this broken woman. She might be hesitant at first, but she needs it desperately in her life.
Thread-jacking: Just give me a heads up first!
Back-tagging: Always and forever.
Fourth-walling: Depends on the situation, but will probably be yes!
Offensive Subjects/Triggers: Rogue may take offense to someone talking about something akin to racial/species superiority, and she will not react well to situations involve medical treatment, scientific experimentation on people, or confinement (especially her own). That said, feel free to bring any of them up, I'm fine playing out all of these!

ABILITY PERMISSIONS

✦ ENERGY ABSORPTION - When touching someone with her bare skin, Rogue may activate her power to absorb enough energy to make the character feel weakened or faint depending on the length of time; the exact extent of this is up to the other player and may be as extreme as the character being rendered unconscious.

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Rogue is able to "borrow" the abilities and skills of other characters for a short time after touching them. These can be special powers, mutations, enhanced abilities, or learned skills.

✦ MEMORY COPYING - While absorbing someone, Rogue will receive 1-3 memories from the character being touched, as chosen by the other player.

NOTE! - OOC discussion will always take place before using these powers in-game. Rogue is also likely to request IC permission beforehand.

✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Depends on the situation at the time. Akobi will be more distrustful/wary, Bean will need an explanation, and Momo will say go right ahead.

✦ MEMORY COPYING - I'll come up with something when we get there

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - MOMO's canon ability is Creation: she can turn the lipids of her skin into any inorganic material she knows the chemical composition of, even creating whole objects like weapons or electronic equipment. Her Porter given power is ponytail hammerspace: she can store any object she can lift into her ponytail. When she takes her hair down, the objects fall out. More details in her all on her journal.
BEAN's canon ability is enhanced intelligence/perfect memory. His Porter given powers are 1) the ability to change his size (like Antman) and 2) Command: he can issue a one-sentence command to up to 6 people, and they just obey. More details on his app on his journal.
AKOBI has no canon powers. His Porter given powers are 1) loyalty empowerment: his strength/agility/reflexes are enhanced when he's in the presence of someone who is loyal to him, and 2) bad luck: whenever things are going well for him, something will happen to put him in danger. ✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Peter's prone to 'bad' decisions, but with the right prompt he could be into lending some speed. Alternatively, always open for accidental yikes.

✦ MEMORY COPYING - Probably best to hmu (valleyheart) at the time, he's got a lot of in-game ones but there could be some interesting things to work out re: Erik, or just his family / mutant status in general!

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Any of his powers. Acid blood (which comes with acid proof everything else in the body, of course), enhanced strength and scales. Skin suit generation is something she could get as well, but that's just his imPort ability to grow a human skin suit over his regular skin to blend in, so that would just be her being able to grow a skin suit to look human if she sits still for like an hour.

✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Brandon absolutely would for his bullet immunity, for the stealth power he'd have to consider it but would almost certainly agree. Norman will want explanation first.

✦ MEMORY COPYING - Can discuss that when it comes up! There'd probably be at least one pretty traumatic one for both, though.

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Brandon's in-game powers are immunity to bullets (though it still hurts a bit to get hit) and being able to make people ignore his presence (still visible on cameras and such). Norman's are being able to unlock anything he's in physical contact with, sending thoughts out to people, and some basic D&D spells he's learned here (most notably disguise self and mage hand).

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Georgia has basic flying brick powers (strength, durability, flight) that she barely uses as well as a truth sense that lets her know when someone's lying, or with focus can force someone to tell the truth. Her canon abilities tend to be more passive, though she's a great writer and has enough martial skills to survive zombie attacks.

She also has eyes that give her constant migraines in the day but give her amazing dark vision and let her see through mirrored glass. Whether or not that counts as an ability I leave up to you!

✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - This is situational. In a pinch? Absolutely. Just for grins? They'd likely need to build a rapport first.

✦ MEMORY COPYING - I'd like to talk this over should this happen, so that it would be able to make things more situationally appropriate.

✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Ruby's powers include: Animal communication (likely counts as two-way animal empathy, if I think on it). Creation of and serious resistance to fire. Limited teleportation using fire as a vector.
Non power abilities: She's bilingual (Japanese and English, though her Japanese is better, since most of her conversational English comes from the internet). She's good at figuring out the best places to start a fire for any number of desired results (usually within the context of arson). She has a high pain tolerance - not super-human, just that she's used to working with pain.
