BASIC INFORMATION
![]()
Name: Rogue / Marie D'Ancanto
Canon: X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut
Age: 34
About: Rogue's application.
This southern belle is sassy, stubborn, and strong-willed, refusing to be pushed around or bullied by others. She’s fiercely protective of people she cares about, as well as those who just need protecting -- she will come to the aid of anyone in need, even if it looks to be a losing battle, because it's the right thing to do. She's a passionate person, willing to risk everything for her 'family' and those that need her help, and is most certainly the adventurous sort, willing to do things she’s never done before and go places on her own.
Rogue feels very guilty when people she cares about are hurt by her powers, and grieves greatly for those she was forced to kill during her years of captivity as part of the government's experimentation. She frequently has nightmares that have been 'inherited' from others, including Magneto from during his time in Auschwitz and Logan from his experiences at Alkali Lake. If she doesn't make an effort to stabilize herself mentally, these stressors can take a toll on her ability to keep the psyches in her mind at bay, leading to rare periods where the stronger psyches supersede her own.
She can be a little reckless, not fully considering all the repercussions of her actions, though this recklessness only extends to herself; she wouldn’t do anything to overtly put someone else in danger. Running is her first instinct when she feels unwelcome and unwanted. Given her history, it’s quite easy for her to fall into this state, and she’s no longer ever fully assured she’s been accepted anywhere without proof through touch.
POWERS & SKILLS
✦ ABSORPTION - Upon skin-to-skin contact, she absorbs the life force, memories, emotions, abilities, personality, and outward physical characteristics of other sentient beings. No upper limit has been determined for the number of beings she can simultaneously imprint. Absorbing psyches more powerful than her own can result in Rogue’s psyche being supplanted for a short time. This ability will not be at full strength on Reverie Station.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Generally for every 1 second she touches someone, she is able to use their abilities for 60 seconds. This can be mutations and powers, or enhanced physical or mental abilities.
✦ PSYCHE COPYING - After the immediate absorption wears off, a copy of the other person's psyche is left in Rogue's mind; these psyches are fully formed, and Rogue is able to communicate with the ones who aren't hostile or overly resistant. This ability will not be active on Reverie Station.
✦ PILOTING/FIGHTING - Because her power is not an 'active' one, during her time with the X-Men she put great effort into being a 'useful' member of the team. This included learning to pilot the Blackbird jet and a handful of other aircraft, and also became proficient enough in a number of fighting styles to lead her own self-defense course at the school.
PERMISSIONS
Physical Affection: Touch is something that's very important to Rogue, and she will both welcome and be wary of it. But please do offer hugs, hand-holding, friendly nudges... She'll cherish each and every one of them.
Physical Violence: Rogue isn't afraid to get into a fight, and after a bit of training to get back into shape, she'll more than be able to hold her own.
Telepathy/Mind Reading: Thanks to years of training with a telepath, Rogue has advanced mental shielding that will make it difficult (but not impossible) for her mind to be read.
Romance/Relationships: Please someone love this broken woman. She might be hesitant at first, but she needs it desperately in her life.
Thread-jacking: Just give me a heads up first!
Back-tagging: Always and forever.
Fourth-walling: Depends on the situation, but will probably be yes!
Offensive Subjects/Triggers: Rogue may take offense to someone talking about something akin to racial/species superiority, and she will not react well to situations involve medical treatment, scientific experimentation on people, or confinement (especially her own). That said, feel free to bring any of them up, I'm fine playing out all of these!
Anything Else? Please comment below if you want Rogue to absorb your character at some point (or to simply keep the possibility open for later), or if you'd like to opt out of something!

✦ ABSORPTION ✦ ABILITY BORROWING power details here
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION at this point in time I don't think she'd give permission but maybe in the future? either way accidental powers is a yes

✦ ABSORPTION -
Memories
1: Kavinsky killed his friend back home to make a better, more compliant version of him. That's fucked up.
2: He did the same thing to his father when he was younger, but that was kind of an accident in self-defense. The accident part is secret.
Information
1: He can take anything out of his dreams and bring it into reality.
2: He was stalking his crush for months and for some reason it didn't work out. He's still sore about it.
3: He hates himself. Not because he feels guilty or anything, but because his whole life feels pointless and empty.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Probably irrelevant, since his power would take hours of sleeping and practicing before she could use it to any effect.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - He would honestly rather die and/or kill everyone on this station than hand over his power, but accidental is fine.

✦ ABSORPTION
Facts:
-Steve grew up in Brooklyn in the 20s/30s
-Steve is an artist
-Steve is the oldest virgin
Memories:
-Steve's last fight with the Winter Soldier
-This proud moment
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Super strength/dexterity/reflexes/etc
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - In a fight, he would absolutely give her permission to borrow a cup of super-strength, but otherwise it would just depend on the situation.

✦ ABSORPTION
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Rogue would be able to borrow Venus's wings, functional eyes and all! This would likely be quite alarming. Additionally, she might be able to glow really brightly in the process, although that's not really something Venus can switch on or off.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Venus would okay temporary hijacking, and she doesn't really have anything to hide with regards to her memories or thoughts!

✦ ABSORPTION I'm not sure what all she doesn't know about him, due to pre-Reverie canon events. But she can pick up differences that changed due to the timeline shift. He didn't kill Kennedy but he did try to kill Nixon. Raven shot him in the throat. He was briefly a horseman of the Apocalypse. Memories: the birth of his daughter and the murder of his family.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING All of them? This is another thing I figure is influenced by prior canon events. Like riding a bike she can just do whatever he can do with metal. Maybe more than he can bc she has his older memories too.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION Both is fine, depending on what is going on.
Erik just gotta be special I guess. They have a weird history lol

✦ ABSORPTION
FACTS:
- Wanda has very recently come from being imprisoned on a barge for refusing to stay on the Avengers compound and going to fight against Team Iron Man in Civil War; her abilities in particular were in question after an incident in Lagos where a loss of control caused her to be indirectly responsible for a lot of civilian deaths.
- She feels very guilty about that incident, the events in Sokovia, and the loss of her brother, Pietro.
- She's very angry about her trust being manipulated.
MEMORIES:
- The moment she felt her brother die.
- Her parents being killed by the shell and disappearing into the hole in their floor.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING Wanda's powers have been limited to telepathy, telekinesis, and psionic energy manipulation in game.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION I think an accidental absorption could be fun, but considering her background Wanda herself would prefer to be asked and give permission.
...casually writes you a small novel
✦ ABSORPTION
- emotions: might be specific to the situation but off-hand she'd pick up on his anger, frustration, and an underlying churning uncertainty and confusion. he's a raw wound of emotion, basically
- facts:
1. his conflict, that he's in a state of constant psychic pain and that he's unable to really moderate his emotions properly as a result; that he still believes himself a disappointment in some way though in what way specifically is difficult to pin down
2. his guilt over his father's death
3. his anger and sense of betrayal toward his uncle and parents
4. his relief over killing Snoke, and the fact that he's a little surprised he got away with killing him
5. that Snoke has been a presence in his life since before being born, that he is struggling a little to settle in the wake of his death
- memories: (basically free reign here, and if you need more info I'll happily provide)
1. being sent away to train with his uncle
2. the revelation about his grandfather being Darth Vader, the sense of anger and hurt over this (because it would have given context to his struggles)
3. Luke trying to kill him
4. going to Snoke soon after
5. meeting Rey
6. killing his father
7. nearly killing his mother (he's relieved she's alive but conflicted over this, because he still considers her an enemy)
8. killing Snoke
9. Rey's rejection
10. facing down Luke on Crait
✦ ABILITY BORROWING
- all powers: i should do a proper run down eventually but i think the most relevant would be: force stasis (that freezing an object/person in place), telekinesis (self-explanatory) and a kind of broad-based tele-empathy (i keep it to surface thoughts and feelings, generally) and possibly psychometry (this is when you are able to touch an object and receive visions from it)
- skills: he's a fairly accomplished pilot, so possibly skills associated to that.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - not at this point in time but i think he would definitely consent to allow her to do it at a later date for the sake of curiosity. doing so accidentally is a yes as is purposeful/plot centered absorption, where he might not icly consent but would be necessary for some other reason, though obviously give me a heads up first.

✦ ABSORPTION
Information:
- He helped found the Brotherhood
- He's insecure to the point of preemptively sabotaging potential friendships out of fear of rejection
- He wants to believe in something
Memories:
- His adopted mother's death by fire, which is also the moment his mutation manifested and his perception of time slowed down, so it's. a really long, terrible memory.
- Magneto setting assassins on him and Wanda in their sleep, as a form of training. Objectively it probably reads like a horrible thing to do to two teenagers, but subjectively, Pietro is mostly just proud of his own survival and desperate for Magnet Dad's approval.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING Super-speed! Super fast cognition and metabolism and resistance to friction/g-force/ etc. as well.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Pietro would give permission in any kind of emergency situation, if it seemed expedient, although he may have regrets after the first time.

memories:
✦ ABILITY BORROWING
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION frank would give her permission! but i am a-ok with accidental absorption too if that happens.

✦ ABSORPTION
Facts:
- Amos almost completely lacks empathy and relies on others to guide his moral compass - to an extent
- He has been travelling the solar system for about 20 years
- He does not think of himself as a good person
Memories:
- Before leaving Earth, Amos was living in Baltimore. he was part of the Amos Burton gang, and when police started closing in on crime in the city, he killed the real Amos Burton, stole his identity, and took off from Earth. He was fifteen.
- Meeting Prax - helping him get settled aboard the Rocinante, and learning that Prax is looking for his daughter and needs their help, Amos's help, giving him a new purpose.
✦ ABILITY BORROWING mechanical/structural engineering, extensive space knowledge, minor field surgery skills
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION it would totally be accidental, at least for now
no subject
✦ ABSORPTION - badly wants a cigarette and has since he woke up on the station // jurgen leitner splashed across his office in lurid pipe murder red // knows that what's out there in the dark isn't a nightmare and is real and he's so fucking scared of it // knock knock mr spider i've brought you my son (the insect legs coming out of the doorway and dragging a teenage boy in) // went to oxford university
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - compulsion!!
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - maybe to find out what it was like and study her but overall probably an accident is preferable
no subject
✦ ABSORPTION - Grief, regret, exhaustion. Rogue will have a flash of witnessing this man attacking her at her perspective (Alucard's).
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Healing acceleration, flight, shapeshifting (bat + wolf), strength, speed.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - Full on permission.
no subject
✦ ABSORPTION - I'm actually going to tweak this a bit. If you're down with it, Rogue wouldn't get abilities or memories but just straight electrical charge. To her it could feel like a static zap, but to One it's a life-drain? Then it's just a turbo caffeine high until it wears off.
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - It is highlly doubtful One would give her permission of his own free will. However if she really really needed t, he would share with her.
no subject
✦ ABSORPTION ✦ ABILITY BORROWING enhanced strength, senses, low level telepathy, understanding of any language
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION accidental only. river is very secretive over her genetic makeup. that said it would be a very interesting/developmental accidental interaction
no subject
✦ ABSORPTION - This is a really interesting one because I honestly don't know. When Rogue tries to absorb Mystique in the comics all she gets are garbled images, perhaps it's a defence mechanism. But having said that I'd love for Rogue to get a window into Mystique's many secrets and be shocked/repelled/even a little bit understanding?
✦ ABILITY BORROWING - Rogue's more than welcome (ooc-ly) to borrow Mystique's shapeshifting, and any of her vast array of skills. Let's discuss first?
✦ IN-CHARACTER PERMISSION - I doubt Mystique would give her permission tbh, but you never know there might be something she wants Rogue to see. Also the scales might make absorption a little difficult
